We are back from winter break!

Almost everyone is back in school after our winter break. We have two children out visiting relatives in other countries. One is in Thailand, the other is in Canada. The students miss both friends a lot. We can't wait to hear about their adventures!

It is our week to say the pledge with our principal. Each day Mrs. H. comes into our room and asks if we are ready. We always say "Yes!" She goes to the phone by our classroom door and makes announcements from there. What a funny way to make announcements! We listen carefully and then it is our turn to talk. Mrs. H. takes the phone from her ear and points it at us as we say the pledge. It is a lot of fun! We get to do this all week! (To our friends on adventures: we will have another week to say the pledge in May.)

It has been very cold in Wisconsin. During the weekend the wind chill was below zero. So far this week the children have been able to go outside for all the recesses. Everyone has had a lot of fun playing in the snow.

We have been learning about penguins, polar bears, and snow this week. We will be going into more detail during the next few weeks. We will also be learning about Martin Luther King, Jr., preparing for the Friendship Concert that will take place in February, and answer a lot of questions so Mrs. Neff can prepare report cards again. We also got a new student this week.

To our friends in far away places, we hope this has helped you to keep up with what is happening at school. We miss you and hope to hear from you soon!

  1. It never snow here, but it rains. And it's almost as hot as summer here. I miss you a lot.

I went to Dream World (amusement park) one day. I went on lots of rides, and I even got to feed fish.
